Spirit Airlines to bring operations center, 345 jobs to Williamson County
Spirit Airlines announced Thursday afternoon it would move its operations control center to Williamson County.
The company will make the move from Florida.
“We are proud that Spirit Airlines has chosen Williamson County as the new home for their operations control center,” Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson said. “We look forward to welcoming them to our community and doing all we can to support their mission-critical work.”
The project represents an investment of $11.3 million and will bring 345 jobs to Tennessee over the next five years. Spirit will relocate more than 240 positions to Tennessee and create 100 additional jobs in Williamson County.
Williamson Inc. officials said the deal only took a matter of weeks after Spirit Airlines came for a site visit in December. The move included work with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Tennessee Valley Authority, Nashville International Airport and Williamson County local leaders.
Spirit Airlines is the first airline to make the county home.
